Rebecca Lee Close
Hi, I’m Rebecca, I am Canadian from Vancouver. I moved to Sheffield in 2016 and have since had a dog, two sons, and become a British Citizen.
Before this, I worked on both cruise and cargo ships as a deck officer. This is where I began practicing yoga. This is also where I met my husband who brought me to the sunny city of Sheffield.
I trained to be a yoga teacher in Vancouver in 2016 with incredible Anusara yoga teachers, this influenced my initial style around the technique of alignment. Since then I’ve trained in many other methods and created my own way of offering yoga and movement to each individual and group as best as I can.
I’m a mother of two amazing sons. These boys are some of the main reasons I practise yoga regularly, to stay strong, both physically and mentally. But also to maintain an understanding of my needs, when to ask for help, and when to say no.
Having invested in yoga training for pain care, yin yoga, yoga for sports, functional yoga, alignment yoga, heart and bones yoga, women’s health, master class, and more, I can offer a wide variety of styles and levels to help you find yoga to suit your needs.
My Passions
-
Pain Management
I have lived with chronic pain for over 20 years and have studied and practised movement in ways to manage it and to function well.
-
Athletic Support
I love learning about anatomy and functional movement so I can incorporate this into my teachings.
-
Move Well
Using my knowledge in sports and pain care, I like to fuse these together to help every day people move well in every day life.
-
Strength
As well as functional movement, I also love getting sweaty with some supportive strength work. I use music and movement to create strong foundations that is both useful and cathartic.
