Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be flexible?
NO WAY! Just because some of the images you may have seen include very bendy people, this is by no means a requirement nor is it a good representation of the average practitioner of yoga.
The only thing you have to be able to do is show up and commit the time for your practise.
I have an injury, can I still attend?
If you feel good enough to, and you let me know about it, yes! BUT (big but) if you’ve seen a medical professional or a physio who has told you not to, check with them first. It may be that the professional is picturing a fast vinyasa/ashtanga class that could cause further damage. The yoga I offer is not this at all, it can compliment some healing processes, but lets please have this discussion together first.
I don’t have a mat or yoga clothes
If you have clothes that are comfy to you, those can be your yoga clothes. As for props (mats, blocks, blankets, straps), I have you covered. If you’re looking for something specific for a prop, you’re welcome to bring along anything you like.
Is the building accessible?
Yes, there is wheelchair access and toilets available.
My child wants to come
I’m ok with kids joining in on using their bodies to move well. You know your kid best so if they can keep it together for the hour and you’re able to stay with them, bring them along!
I’m pregnant, can I still practise?
Yes, I kept up yoga throughout the whole of both of my pregnancies. However, it isn’t recommended to start anything new or vigorous at this time, so if going for a 30 walk is difficult, you might find this difficult as well. If you want to give it a try, let me know before class starts so I can advise how best to adapt certain poses.
Do you do a first class discount?
No, I offer a discount on a beginners bundle instead. This is because I have found that when people come for just one class, they might not feel the benefit, or might not enjoy that particular day. When people return more than once, they begin to see changes, learn to appreciate the difference from one class to the next, and are more willing to commit to the change they want to affect.
Do you offer private classes?
YES! I love being able to offer private classes for either 1-2-1 or small groups. I prefer to offer these in bundles to ensure you get the most out of the sessions. But if you just want one class for a specific reason or special occasion, I can accommodate!
